Railway Enquiry using SMS

Really saying i am fed up of people asking PNR status to others when they are not at their pc desk.indian_railways.gif Even though Railway has made such a nice service of Railway enquiry through sms, people hardly use it.even the so called " tech geeks" rarely use..then whats the use of technology when its not being used for making the work easier ! So atleast from now on use Railway SMS Enquiry service to know your PNR status. I know its difficult to remember all the codes for train list, seat availability, etc.. but atleast PNR status is simple !  : PNR <PNR NO> and send it to 676747

Or if you cannot remember carry a printout of the codes for it !! lol..nono..u dont need to..

here,do this to make your work easier !!

Here are the numbers to which you can send and get the info..

- 7886,676747,7070,8888   ( i like 676747 , as time of message reply back is faster..)

For example : You use 676747

To get the list of codes  … send . sms TRAIN to 676747

- Checking your PNR status

sms PNR <your PNR number> to 676747
eg: PNR 1234567891    or just send your PNRNo to 676747

- Checking for Trains running between two stations

sms TL < starting city > < ending city > to 676747
eg: TL Hubli Bangalore or use stations codes   eg: TL UBL SBC

- Checking for Ticket Availablity

sms TA <train number > <starting city> <ending city> <journey date > to 676747
eg. TA 6590 hubli bangalore 07May

Networks which Support 676747 :

8888 is busy.. many a times i have never got any reply from it..as its used for many other purposes, maybe it takes longer time to respond to this railway query !

So from now on use your mobile ONLY when you are not at your pc desk..

Happy railway smsing !

Things we can learn From Dil Chahta Hai

Things we can learn from Dil Chahta Hai .. ..

dch_1.jpg

+ Freaking out and enjoying life doesn ' t need drugs or cigarettes.

+ There are relationships apart from Bf/Gf, marriage, siblings, friendship that can be very emotional and true which is beyond the understanding of many people.

+ And yeah even though U may be the best of friends there is always a limit which should never be crossed. Then it starts hurting………..

+ Improving Ur imperfections after you realize it, always take some time.

+ You always don ' t need to show or prove your Gf/Bf how much U love or care about her/him, which can sound very boring and finally U R dumped.+ Believe in Love , true love will never let you down

+ Never be ashamed to go back to your old friends, friends are there to understand your mistakes.

+ Do not be afraid of others, always think that others are afraid of you. (remember the Australian Beggar at the railway station)

+ Whenever you need your friend, remember that he is just a phone call away…distances can ' t separate friends

+ In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends

+ It ' s the friends you can call up at 4 A. M. that matter.

+ The only unchangeable certainty is that nothing is certain or unchangeable.

+ The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with never say a word, and then walk away with a feeling like it was the best conversation you ' ve ever had.

Retailers like Radio Shack and Best Buy have electronics-recycling programs for disposing of unwanted cell phones, batteries, and other products. (The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has compiled a list of recycling programs.) But when it comes to buying a product that's less toxic to the environment, knowing what your options are isn't easy.

Count Down Your Carbon is a site where you analyze energy consumptions like Change Your Light Bulbs, Plant Trees ,Buy Energy Star Appliances,Conserve Energy,Use Hot Water Efficiently,Buy Clean Energy,Drive Less—Drive Smart,Eat Green,Reduce Waste—Support Recycling,Offet Your Emissions. Help Feed the Hungry @ The Hunger Site

Some Facts :

It is estimated that one billion people in the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. That'sthe_hungersite_logo.jpg roughly 100 times as many as those who actually die from these causes each year.

About 24,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger-related causes. This is down from 35,000 ten years ago, and 41,000 twenty years ago. Three-fourths of the deaths are children under the age of five.

Famine and wars cause about 10% of hunger deaths, although these tend to be the ones you hear about most often. The majority of hunger deaths are caused by chronic malnutrition. Families facing extreme poverty are simply unable to get enough food to eat.

The Hunger Site began on June 1, 1999. In 1999, a year marked by good economic news, 31 million Americans were food insecure, meaning they were either hungry or unsure of where their next meal would come from. Of these Americans, 12 million were children.

How You Can Help In Mere Seconds — Every Day

The Hunger Site provides a feel-good way to help promote awareness and prevent hunger deaths every day — through easy and quick online activities.

With a simple, daily click of the yellow "Help Feed The Hungry" button at The Hunger Site, visitors help provide food to those in need. Visitors pay nothing. Food is paid for by the site's sponsors and distributed by Mercy Corps worldwide and by America’s Second Harvest to food banks throughout the United States.

Button to be clicked on The Hunger Site :

button_clicktogive_ths.gif

Please remember to click every day to give help and hope to those most in need. Every click counts in the life of a hungry person.

Best Option :

Also use Remember to Click option to be reminded of clicking for that day. Its a free newsletter to remind you to click everyday.

You Can Help Even More

In addition to clicking the yellow "Help Feed The Hungry" button, visitors can help more by shopping in The Hunger Site store , each item purchased will raise funds to feed the hungry..

Where does the Funds go ?

The staple food funded by clicks at The Hunger Site is paid for by site sponsors and distributed to those in need by Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest. 100% of sponsor advertising fees goes to our charitable partners. Funds are split between these organizations and go to the aid of hungry people in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and North America.

So all you people just help by clicking on the yellow button on The Hunger Site . You don't need to do anything much. Just a click everyday by everybody would feed millions…

A Cup of Cocoa a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

There is more sweet news about chocolate. A cup of cocoa a day may help drive heartchocolate_3.jpg disease away, researchers say.

Overweight adults who drank a specially processed cocoa beverage significantly improved their blood vessel function in just two hours.

Improved blood function, in turn, mitigates the risk of cardiovascular disease, says researcher Valentine Yanchou Njike, MD, of the Yale Prevention Research Center in New Haven, Conn.

Cocoa Improves Blood Flow

Results showed that the ability of arteries to relax and expand to accommodate increased blood flow to the heart increased by about 39 percent by two hours after people drank the sugar-free cocoa. When they drank cocoa with sugar it improved by about 23 percent. In contrast, it dropped 12 percent when they consumed the nonfat milk drink.

If this is the case so go on having some nice cup of Cocoa everyday ..Its surprising to see so many results out of eating cocoa.previously we have seen Chocolate May Protect Smokers' Hearts

Cool.. Happy Cocoaing !

Stop surfing, make friends-Internet Ban at Indian Institute of Technology,Mumbai

Via Indian Express, a story about a unique attempt to address student problems at the Indianiit_internet_ban.jpg Institute of Technology in Mumbai:

One of India's top engineering schools has restricted Internet access in its hostels, saying addiction to surfing, gaming and blogging was affecting students' performance, making them reclusive and even suicidal.

Authorities at the elite Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Mumbai said students had stopped socializing and many were late for morning classes or slept through them.

Accordingly, the Internet access will be completely cut off from 11pm-12:30 am every night, to encourage students to go to bed early, or at least get out of their rooms and talk to other students.

But the move has not gone down well with students who say they hate their lives being regulated.

Student anger has also spilled on to several blogs run by IIT alumni where bloggers say "the birth of the virtual world had led to the death of the real selves," but add that they resent regulation of students' activities.
